With all the various travel restrictions, it’s not easy to get to paradise these days. Many Caribbean destinations may have “re-opened”, but that doesn’t mean airlines are actually flying there or that you can just step off the plane (or boat) and carry on with things as if COVID-19 didn’t exist. There are a lot of rules and restrictions to adhere to. Here is a list of destinations and what you should consider before booking a trip:

Anguilla

Having previously stated that their border would not open until at least October 31, 2020, the new government of Anguilla recently announced that it will begin taking tourist applications beginning August 21, 2020. It’s a little unclear about when you can actually travel there vs. submit an application. The application will go under review and only if you receive approval will you be admitted. You can find the news release here.

Here are the basics as of August 14, 2020:

  • only villa accommodations are opening to tourists at this time

  • mandatory submission of a PCR test given within 3-5 days of arrival
